details |
This PowerPoint was created for a presentation at the 2007 NACCTEP Conference in New Orleans. The session was intended for those involved in student teaching supervision who are not online teaching experts. I explained how I became a convert to the appropriateness of online course delivery for this seminar in particular. I described the problems our students were having with the traditional format and how the online format addresses them. I demonstrated the simple design elements I use to make the environment user-friendly and engaging and how format supports content, especially the linking of online activities with the practicum. This PowerPoint and a tour of the online classroom were presented, plus samples of student engagement in course activities, including opportunities for individualizing and integration of a variety of learning modes.
