details |
Savvy Cyber Professor is a professional development series that familiarizes community college faculty with unique and compelling applications of the Internet in science, mathematics, technology education and language arts. Combining online and face-to-face instruction, faculty will create "Real World Learning Objects" that they can use to enhance and strengthen their courses.
Real World Learning Objects are concise core-instructional internet-based activities focused on discrete topics in higher education mathematics, science, educational technology, and English/language arts. They are unique and compelling (real-time data, collaborative, primary source, or web-publishing) activities that are easily used in similar courses at other institutions of higher education. Real World Learning Objects are inquiry-based and/or problem-solving activities that are relevant to students.
The goal of SCP is to help community college faculty who teach pre-service teachers, model effective technology-based instruction in order to improve student engagement and achievement in core courses.
