Pre-approved Faculty Professional Growth Projects - 2005-2006
We would like all Faculty in the Maricopa Community College District know of the Pre-approved Faculty Professional Growth Projects that Lisa and I have planned for you for the 2005-2006 Academic Year.
Fall 2005 SoftChalk:
We started off with our SoftChalk Learnshop conducted on 2 Thursday afternoons at Gateway Community College. The Learnshop runs from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with 7.5 clock hours that are pre-approved. We had a GREAT time yesterday and have those faculty well on their way to creating amazing Learning Objects. They will be posting their finished projects on the MLX next Thursday.
Fall 2005 RLO101:
For all of you who are interested in finding out what Reusable Learning Objects are, how to find them and then how to build pedagogy around those found Learning Objects, please consider enrolling in our Online RLO101 Blackboard Learnshop.
We will be offering both a Fall (Oct. 3 - Dec. 2) and a Spring (Feb. 6 - Mar. 31) Learnshop. These will be open for 2 months each and will have 3 Lessons for you:
Lesson 1 - RLOs and Repositories
In this Lesson, you will look at RLO definitions and their examples and then identify RLO Repositories and their value.
Lesson 2 - Searching and Evaluating
In this Lesson, you will search for relevant RLOs to your instruction.
Lesson 3 - Creating a Lesson
In this Lesson, you will create a lesson surrounding your "found" RLOs.
This project is designed for you to take 5 hours to go through and has been pre-approved for 5.0 clock hours!
Fall 2005 Mediator 8:
We will offer a Mediator 8 Learnshop conducted on 2 Saturday mornings at South Mountain Community College. The Learnshop runs from 8:00 a.m. to Noon with 7.5 clock hours that are pre-approved.
Spring 2006 SoftChalk:
We will offer a SoftChalk Learnshop conducted on Friday, Feb. 10th at Paradise Valley Community College. The Learnshop runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with 5.0 clock hours that are pre-approved.
