RLO Repository of the Month - October

Miami Dade College's Virtual College has a learning object initiative in which they are developing RLOs in the area of Medicine.

Their initial pilot includes faculty members from Nursing, Physical Therapy, Radiography, and Vision Care. These initial 16 Learning Objects are being primarily implemented using Macromedia Flash MX.

They believe that Reusable Learning Objects hold great promise for challenging instructional topics that can be more effectively taught using multimedia simulations and interactivity.

Presently, their work in this area is focused on developing 16 new, sharable, web-based Learning Objects with a pilot team of Medical Center Campus faculty. They anticipate that this effort will allow us them to develop the expertise and infrastructure necessary to expand the development of Learning Objects into other academic disciplines.
