RLO of the Month: November

November's RLO of the month is on Urinary Histology from St. Petersburg College in Florida. To access it, go to this site: http://it.spcollege.edu:8500/edtech/instructorResources/RLO/search/index.cfm and then type in URINARY under title and select the Urinary Histology Video Lecture from the list of RLOs.

This RLO is a Flash video that contains a short tutorial on urinary histology using slides from websites the students are required to visit during their lab. Illustrative slides of trachea, bronchus, bronchiole, respiratory bronchiole and alveoli are discussed in this presentation. This tutorial helps student focus on what they need to look at when viewing microscopic slides of digestive structures. There are two activities to complete that will help you assess your understanding of urinary system.

This RLO is great for use in courses dealing with Anatomy/Physiology, biology and science.

Although I know nothing about this subject matter. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the RLO, it was easy to understand and I liked that I was able to view the instructor and slides at the simultaneously. I also was pleased that it included assessment activities.

I encourage you to check out St. Petersburg College's RLO repository.
