RLO of the Month: December

December’s RLO of the Month is Understanding Dyslexia: An Introduction, developed at the University of Nottingham by Jo Sanderson-Mann. To access it, go to this site:
http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/nursing/sonet/rlos/placs/dyslexia1/index.html

This RLO provides an introduction to dyslexia, outlining both positive and negative aspects.

This RLO includes text, animation and narration to provide the viewer a number of ways that they can learn the material which address several of the multiple intelligences. It includes activities and examples.

I thought this was a great RLO for faculty to understand dyslexia and some of the challenges that our students face. The thing that I liked most about it was that it provided strategies that we can use to help our students and that it provided the information in multiple modalities just as we should to address the learning needs of our students.

The RLO repository at the University of Nottingham has a number of RLOs developed and/or under development in the areas of:

× Biological Processes
× Statistics
× Study Skills
× Practice Learning & Clinical Skills
× Evidence-Based Practice
× Research Methods
× Sociology
× Epidemiology
× Science Basics
× Anatomy
